Rajmata Gayatri Devi and Beena Kak at the Peace March

Events

To generate public awareness and involvement, Disha organizes events like Peace March and Car Treasure Hunt.

Visits by celebrities attract media attention and helps further our cause.

Peace March for the rights of the disabled

To draw public attention towards the special needs of the disabled, we organized a Peace March in Jaipur alongwith 'Sanskar' on 16th January, 1999.

Eminent citizens and over 3,000 students from 20 schools walked with Disha students and parents, carrying slogans and banners. The March was flagged off by Ms. Beena Kak, Minister of Tourism - Rajasthan and received by Rajmata Gayatri Devi.

A Memorandum urging the State Government's proactive role in resolving our Burning Issues was submitted to the Chief Minister, Mr Ashok Gehlot, who also joined the March for some time.

Annual Car Treasure Hunt

First organized in 1997, the Disha Car Treasure Hunt has now become an annual feature - thanks to the overwhelming support and enthusiasm that it has received, both from participants and  sponsors.

Participants are required to dress themselves and their cars with a particular theme. Cryptic clues ensure that they drive all around the city - and in the process, spread awareness.

Nearly 60 creatively decorated cars  (with 4 persons in each car) participated in the last such event, which was also covered by the Star TV News Channel.

This talk-of-the-town event offers an unique opportunity for corporates to not only sponsor the main event, but also the attractive prizes, which are given in various categories.

We are grateful to our sponsors and volunteers, without whose support, this event would not be possible.

Visits by celebrities

We are grateful to the numerous celebrities, from various walks of life, who have encouraged our students by their very presence.

They include Royalty (Rajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur), Diplomats (Ambassador of Switzerland), Ministers, Sports persons (Leander Paes), Corporate heads/senior officials, University professors et al.
