"This is our existing site", announced Mr Praveen Gattani
handing us a CD, "which we'd like you to redesign." Browsing
through the CD gave us a sense of déjà vu. And the client sheepishly
admitted that it was "highly inspired by your site for Stone
Age."
We obviously scrapped the poor imitation, and started afresh. To
enhance the color and texture of slates and quartzites (Crossland's
focal products), we decided on a black background. The picture on the
left-hand side product navigation bar reinforces the fact that the
client owns of quality quarries.
To add a dash of elan and enliven the somber background, we added a
bright orange-colored wave with buttons linking to the other site
sections. Two layouts (for 640X480 and 800x600 resolutions) exist for
the top frame. The splash screen auto-detects the visitor's monitor
resolution and displays the appropriate page.
DHTML has been used to popup the product details on mouse-over. On
clicking the product, enlarged images appear in separate windows, enabling
visitor to compare various stones.
